About the C-NE Certification Program:


The Certified Nurse Executive (C-NE) Program has been developed to meet the needs of Nurse Executives in Long-Term Care. Participants must complete seven core courses and three electives, and pass the course exams with a score of 80% or higher to be awarded the Nurse Executive Certification (C-NE). AANAC courses are written and reviewed by experts ensuring the highest level of quality.

Attention: To obtain the C-NE certification, you must be an RN. If you are not an RN, you are encouraged to complete the workshop and receive the LTCM-C (Long Term Care Manager- Credentialed).

About the RAC-CT Certification Program:


The AANAC Certification Program is dedicated to assisting nursing home staff to master the completion of the MDS and related requirements and functions that form the foundation for operations in any nursing home. The program materials are written by national experts in clinical assessment, completion of the MDS, and the regulatory processes surrounding the MDS. An Editorial Board and other expert reviewers continually review each course to ensure all materials are current and as accurate as possible.

Each module generally consists of physical assessment standards of practice; instructional information, including source documents from regulations; instructor commentary; frequently asked questions; forms, tools, and in-service aids; case studies; and a pre-test, quiz, and final exam. This workshop provides the entire Certification Program in three days for participants certifying for the first time. Participants who desire to recertify have to attend the fi rst two days to cover the required materials for recertification. While the third day is highly recommended, it is not required for recertification.

How the Certification Program Works: (3-days)

  • To be eligible to become RAC-CT® Certified (Resident Assessment Coordinator - Certified®) through the AANAC Certification Program an individual must:
  • Be a clinician/professional involved in the RAI process.
  • Complete 10 AANAC courses, of which 7 are required as the core curriculum:
  • MDS 3.0 Coding for OBRA and PPS
  • OBRA Timing and Scheduling
  • PPS Timing and Scheduling
  • RUGs - IV
  • CAAs
  • Care Planning
  • Medicare Part A
In addition to completing the 7 core courses, the participant must complete a total of 3 elective courses. The 3 electives for this workshop are:
  • Quality Indicators/Quality Measures and Quality Measures
  • Five-Star Quality Rating System
  • Accurately Assessing Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)

How the Recertification Program Works: (2-days)

To be eligible to become RAC-CT recertified, an individual must attend and pass the first two days of the workshop which include the courses listed below:

  • PPS
  • RUGs IV
  • CAAs
Each participant must pass each course with a score of 80% or higher in order to be RAC-CT certified and included in the AANAC National Database for the RAC-CT.
